DVD Chapters
Victoria
Falls (4 min 57 sec)
Dancing rainbows and a dual bungee jump complement the drama
and beauty of this world wonder, known locally as Mosi-o-Tunya
(Smoke that Thunders).
Wildlife
Livingstone (2 min 32 sec)
Elephant, giraffe, hippo, impala, white rhino, wart hog,
bee eater and crocodile etc, all viewed in Livingstone’s
Zoological Park, or from a stunning sunset cruise on the
Zambezi.
Lake
Tanganyika (4 min 13 sec)
Embers glow in the early morning, on the boats of local
fishermen, as they sell the night’s catch near the
port of Mpulungu, on the southern tip of Lake Tanganyika.
Kalambo
Falls (2 min 5 sec)
With an uninterrupted fall of 221m, the Kalambo Falls
are second highest in Africa, higher even than Victoria
Falls. Fed at the top by a deceptively tranquil pool,
the waters go on to flow into Lake Tanganyika.
Traditional
Dancers (6 min 11 sec)
Many styles of dance are found in the nine provinces of
Zambia and the Ndola based Lyondo Dance Troupe skillfully
demonstrate the use of shoulders, waist and legs etc.,
in a selection of these.
Church
Choir (4 min 35 sec)
Spine tingling harmonies combine, under inspired leadership,
with the dextrous rhythms of drum, stick and shaker, as
the Chifubu Church Choir give a memorable performance.
Culture
on the Copperbelt (8 min 12 sec)
The dance of N'goni Warriors, fire eating, close
harmony singing and the vibrant Catholic Church Choir
are but a few of the cultural talents shown from the Copperbelt.
Village
and the Secretive Nyau (10 min 19 sec)
Straw roofed huts, hand drawn water and a quest to find
animal dancers of the secretive Nyau, give a powerful insight
into life in a remote village in the Eastern Province
of Zambia.
Safari
in South Luangwa 4 min 30 sec
Elephants, zebra and lion laze around in the hot afternoon,
but as night falls, the atmosphere becomes tense, as lions
stampede a herd of Kudu to isolate their prey for the
kill.
Solar
Eclipse 4 min 50 sec
Zambia’s total eclipse attracted international visitors
and the President himself to share the excitement, as the
sun’s diminishing crescent gives way to total darkness,
followed by the appearance of the stunning ‘diamond’.
Good Causes
With many of our resources derived from Zambia, we remain ever grateful to the people of this less economically developed country (LEDC), one of the poorest in the world, who consistently help us to gather this rich material. We have learnt though the years that aid and debt relief alone will not solve all the problems of their country and that giving tools and skills can only work effectively if there are customers with money to spend. This requires an inflow of money to Zambia, which is where tourism can play a part and why we have created this DVD. We hope you will buy a copy and find yourself tempted to visit yourself. In return we will contribute 10% of the DVD profits, from Jan 2008 onwards, to local good causes in Zambia.
